Gen Syncing | Detailed GenLayer Documentation

Returns the GenVM sync status, indicating how far the node's local GenVM state is behind the chain tip.

Method: gen_syncing

Parameters: None

Returns: Object with sync status information

Response Fields:

Field	Type	Description
`syncedBlock`	string	Hex-encoded block number that GenVM has synced to
`latestBlock`	string	Hex-encoded latest block number on the chain
`blocksBehind`	number	Number of blocks GenVM is behind the chain tip (0 = fully synced)

Notes:

This endpoint always returns an object (never false like eth_syncing)
Use blocksBehind == 0 to determine if the node is fully synced
When the node is catching up, gen_call requests without an explicit blockNumber will serve data at the syncedBlock rather than waiting for full sync
